Subconscious
(2015/Lionsgate DVD)
Picture:
C Sound: C Extras: A Film: C+
It
is 1943 and the USS Lionfish has been ordered to port and it's men
denied access. Even the Captain doesn't know why, but 70 years
later, his grandson seeks to discover the truth (including whether
his grandfather actually committed suicide or not) and is allow to
board the Lionfish to uncover it's secrets. Was the Lionfish a
secret government experiment for paranormal activities? And how far
are you willing to go to discover it's past, or it it worth dying
for?
In
Georgia Hilton's Subconscious (2015), that 70 years later,
Peter finally gets an answer from Government to explore the submarine
his Grandfather commanded, but it turns out the sub (and it's ghost)
take him and his crew back to WWII and now they have to survive to
come home. As he discovers why the government has kept silent all
these years, he learns the government knew of this time traveling sub
and how he was fated to board the USS Lionfish and bring future
information to past and change the war.
This
was your typical US government conspiracy story. Why is it in
Navy/Military men are obsessed with their 'missions', the ex-wives
are cougars, young women sleep men who are old enough to be their
father and the young men sleep with the ex-wives (isn't there a
normal family in the military)?
Unfortunately,
the anamorphically enhanced image and lossy Dolby Digital mix are
weaker than the problematic script, making this an all around dud
save the extras, which include deleted scenes, alternate ending, gag
reel, interview with last surviving member of the USS Lionfish,
'Torpedo Loading Sequence' and trailer gallery.
