If
you are a feminist, then boy this is the movie for you.
Free
The Nipple is an insightful documentary about an
army of passionate women that launch a revolution to 'Free the
Nipple' and decriminalize the female body. Based on a true story,
this mass movement of topless women, armed with First Amendment
lawyers, graffiti installations and national publicity stunts, invade
New York City to protest the backwards censorship laws in the USA.
Directed
by Lino Esco, the documentary is pretty interesting in seeing what
happens when these women boldly express their bodies and opinions.
It makes you think about our nation's freedoms and how much as
changed since our parents' generation. One reviewer referred to the
film as a Billboard more than a serious piece of filmmaking. I love
breasts as much as the next guy, but in my opinion what is condemned
suitable to public acceptance isn't going to change after a movement
like this erupts.
Though
it may take itself too seriously at times and may come across as a
thin budgeted lore, it is a good excuse to see LOTS of topless women
on screen. I don't think I could sit through it again though.
Presented
in standard definition with an anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of
2.35:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track. There are also some
subtitles in English and French.
The
only extra are some trailers.
