A
young girl, Johana (Sarah Hyland), returns home for her brother's
funeral, but that's when her battle begins, as each one of the family
member returns they bring their own estranged spouse she tries to
keep the peace between the family. As they settle old scores and
grudges each one carries some secret that they never admitted to each
other in Jarret Tarnol's See You In Valhalla (2015).
Johana
hates her family. Her father is useless, her brothers fight all the
time, one is a control freak with a daughter her age, the other is an
unsuccessful psychologist. She herself left home when she got
knocked up and has never looked back ...until now. Her brother (the
one who died) died high on drugs in full Viking garb while avenging
his dead girlfriend from the drug dealer who sold her the drugs which
she overdosed on. As they all come home they realize they haven't
been the perfect family and this might be the last chance to fix
their brother family and to sent off their brother with a bit of
honor ...Viking style.
This
film seemed to board between either being a drama or comedy. It is
the age old story of the dysfunctional family. Each family member
blames each other for their mistakes life. It is only after the
death of a family member are they able to come together and realize
the the only place they didn't blame was themselves. Bret Garrison
and Emma Bell also star.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image looks good throughout, but the
lossy Dolby Digital sound is too laidback and flat for its own good
and there are no extras.
