The Wedding Ringer (2015/Sony DVD)

Picture: B+ Sound: B Extras: B Film: A-

Doug (Josh Gad) is a socially awkward groom to be who needs to find a best man (and groomsmen) for his wedding, but he really doesn't really have any friends ....so he does the next best thing, he hires one. With less than two weeks before the wedding, Doug hires Jimmy (Kevin Hart) to be his best friend 'Bic' and they have to convince the bride and her family that he is the 'real' deal and Doug's long time best friend. When plans go out the window they have to pull off the world's greatest con job and go on the bromance trip of a life time.

In Jeremy Garelick's The Wedding Ringer (2015), Doug needs that best man and Jimmy runs the Best Man Inc., a company that provides the most charming best men money can buy. As Doug, Jimmy and the boys get to know each other they must pull off the 'Golden Tux' where ALL the groomsmen are fakes/social outcasts and who must look and behave like gentlemen (and knows how to perform a party trick distraction). But they have one golden rule; don't ever become real friends. As Doug learn what how to make friends, Jimmy may actually learn what it means to be a friend.

This was hilarious movie, about marriage, how crazy a wedding can be, how even more crazy men can be and what it means to be someone's best friend/best man. There were times that seems things couldn't get any crazier ...but it does. But through it all it was funny, heart warming and leave you laughing. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Dan Gill, Jorge Garcia, Affion Crockett, Olivia Thurby, Mimi Rogers, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, Ken Howard, Josh Peck and Neal Israel also star.

The anamorphically enhanced 2.35 X 1 image looks so good, you'll wonder where the Blu-ray version is, while the lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is solid throughout. Extras include Going to the Chapel of Love featurette, a full length audio commentary with director and Josh Gad and trailers.
