The
Walking Deceased (2015/Aristar/Arc DVD)
Picture:

With
the tagline, imagine a world were the dead are smarter than the
living, basically sums up perfectly the hot mess that this film
is. The Walking Deceased is a spoof of modern zombie films
like Warm Bodies,
Zombieland, and of course The Walking Dead all thrown in a
blender. However, it doesn't quite work. Maybe with some better
actors and maybe a cameo or two worth mentioning this could have been
more effective.
The
film stars Dave Sheridan, Tim Ogletree, Joey Oglesby, Sophie Taylor,
and Danielle Gracia and is directed by Scott Dow. The production
level is about as low as the humor and the makeup is pretty
unimpressive. The purpose is to obviously make some bank off the
namesake while the pop culture iron is hot... however this spoof
didn't even make it to theaters and will appeal only to an adolescent
audience.
After
waking from a coma, Sheriff Lincoln (a play on Walking Dead's
star Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick Grimes) realizes that he is in the
midst of a zombie apocalypse. He reunites with his son Chris and
joins several other survivors, including four friends who use city
names as aliases and a zombie named Romeo who is looking for love, to
find the Safe Haven Ranch, where they expect to be safe from the
zombies.
Sound
and Picture on the disc are standard for DVD with an anamorphic
aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Nothing
too fancy but passable for the inferior format as compared to Blu
ray.
No
extras.
