Katherine
Heigl, Patrick Wilson, Jordana Brewster, and Jim Belushi star in Home
Sweet Hell,
which tells the story of sexually frustrated Furniture Store Owner
Don Champagne (Wilson) can't get his model housewife, Mona (played
excellently by Katherine Heigl), to have sex with him. It doesn't
help that at work, he hired the stunningly beautiful salesgirl
(Brewster), Mona who is constantly flirting with him. Once the two
have multiple steamy affairs, Don ends up getting her pregnant.
Meanwhile, his wife Mona will stop at nothing to maintain their
storybook life with Don... even if it ends violently.
The
film is surprisingly better than you might expect with some good
performances, sharp cinematography, and a script that's pretty funny.
It reminds of the 1980s film, Parents,
with its dark comedic angle on everyday people and relationships.
From the director of Skateland,
the film follows that same sort of territory where it has a fair bit
of drama too, especially when the pregnancy twist comes around the
second act.
The
film plays strongly on the fact that Jordana Brewster is incredibly
hot and basically stuns every male actor in the film are constantly
going gaga over her. Especially in one scene, where Don has a pool
party and she reveals her bikini look in front of everyone and have a
stunned look. She looks fantastic and its a shame that most of the
time she only acts in Fast
and the Furious
movies.
Picture
and sound on the disc look great with a 1080p high definition
transfer in digital widescreen 2.40:1 presentation and a powerful,
lossless, English DTS-HD MA 5.1 track that's also featured in French,
and Spanish.
Extras
include Blu-ray exclusives of 7 Deleted Scenes, Outtakes, Champagne
Furniture Commercial, and an additional 2 deleted scenes, and a
Making of Featurette.
