The Complete Second Season (2014/Cinemax/HBO Blu-ray Set)

The
hit show Banshee returns with fury in this Second Season
Blu-ray release that is a must see for fans of small town noir shows.
From the creator of True Blood, Banshee centers on
Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of
the sheriff of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he continues his criminal
activities, even as he's hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed
years earlier. The show stars Rus Blackwell, Antony Starr, Ivana
Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison, and Hoon Lee. The show is
well acted and produced and shows promise for more premium
programming on Cinemax.
The
new season finds Lucas, having escaped detection after being
interrogated by FBI agent Jim Racine (guest star Zeljko Ivanek), with
his hands fuller than ever as sheriff, dealing with (among other
things) the murder of a Kinaho tribe girl, the continuing escalation
of tensions between Amish overlord Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) and
Kinaho tribe leader Alex Longshadow (Anthony Ruivivar), and the
unwelcome appearance of a surprise visitor: the reprobate son of the
real (dead) Lucas Hood.
Sound
and Picture on the disc are superb with 1080p 1.78 X 1 high
definition transfer and a DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 track to boot.
There are also French, Spanish, and German DTS tracks on the discs to
boot. The transfer far exceeds previous broadcasts of the show by
leaps and bounds.
