Ancient
Aliens: The Complete Seasons One thru Six (2009 - 2014) includes
the DVD debut of Season Six, V. 2 ahead of any individual
release in time for the holidays. Contained in a clear plastic case
that looks a little like the old VHS clamshells, but heavier, every
episode so far of this still-on-the-air hit is here. My guess in
part is that with the DVD box set of the classic hit Leonard Nimoy
series In Search Of... (reviewed elsewhere on this site) doing
so well with fans, they needed a set to answer it. With varied
opinions, we have covered most of thee shows (sometimes twice, so
we'll not include DVDs were we have covered Blu-rays) so here is a
list of all of our previous coverage:

Better
is Roots & Branches: 5
Element Qi Gong, a double
DVD set that is pretty through on presenting this approach to well
being. The first DVD covers the philosophy and basics in Elements &
Movement, while the second is the Exercise DVD. Whether this works
for you or if you even believe it or not, I found it more convincing
and interesting than may releases of its kind I have seen since the
dawn of home video if I had to recommend a release that was not
strictly exercise, yet was about well-being, this would be one of the
few.
There
are no extras.
Finally,
we have Trish Stratus: Stratusphere Yoga, which may not be an
outright exercise title either, but Yoga has been very popular as a
subject and genre on home video. This single DVD is as good as I
have seen, even if it is not as loaded with information, exercises
and the like as some others in the field. This is effective enough,
at least a good starter DVD if not more and Mis Stratus is obviously
expert in what she does. If you like yoga or are interested, you
can't go too wrong here.
There
are no extras.
The
digitally-shot, anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image on all the
DVDs are not bad, but Stratus is a little weaker throughout
than expected, while the lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo on each
release is equal with weak Pro Logic surrounds on all. Ancient
sounds better in DTS-MA in its Blu-ray releases.
