From
Dusk Till Dawn: The Series - Season One
(2014) dares to take the hit vampire film and make a cable TV series
out of it. Seth (now played by DJ Cotrona) and Richie (now plated by
Zane Holtz) become Texas most wanted after stealing 30 million and
leaving a trail of dead Rangers. They are now chased by Ranger
Gonzalez who's after them for revenge for the death of his partner.
The Fuller family, a family who's lost their faith in god after the
death of their mother, finds their faith in each other tested when
their path crosses with the Geckos, but everything is placed on the
back burner when they find themselves trapped in an ancient
Aztec/Mayan temple full of snake/vampire people. Richie is somehow
lead by visions from beautiful vampire succubus queen imprisoned for
the last 500 years and requests him to 'free' her from the 9 Lords of
the the night.
Mexican
snake vampires, enough said. The series started out a bit slow,
going through the characters back story for the first half of the
season and kept on jumping back in time to explain all their stories,
but things got more interesting in the second half, after all the
characters end up at the temple. Ironically, the two killers become
the anti heroes fighting against the evil blood suckers of the night.
Impressive.
The
1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image across all the episodes
is top rate, worthy of the theatrical film and has a consistent
atmosphere, while the lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 mix on
all the episodes may have outdone the film with exceptional,
recording, mixing and overall sound design. Extras include a ton of
stuff, including commentary with director and staff, behind the
scenes, making of the characters, Q & A, trailers, gags, and much
more.
