The
American Frontier never died... it went UNDEAD. John P. Gibson's
Revelation
Trail
(or Fail)
is a terrible direct to video attempt at horror filmmaking with a
unique premise and one dimensional characters that bores the viewer
throughout its drab existence. With literally no star power, the
film takes the typical western storyline and throws zombies into the
mix - hoping at achieving some sort of cult status but instead ends
up being just another title you would see amongst many others on
Netflix or Red Box.
A
frontier preacher's life is destroyed when a gruesome power consumes
the land; he now must make the choice to give in to ruin, or find his
purpose in the fight against the mysterious undead. Joined by the
town lawman (who has entirely different personal demons to confront),
the two men learn the extremes they're willing to go to in order to
make it to the next day, as well as the depths people will go to when
they truly believe in something.
The
image on the disc is standard for DVD and certainly nothing to write
home about - presented in standard definition with anamorphically
enhanced aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track.
English subs and English SDH are also available on the disc.
Extras
include Commentary
with the crew, Life on The Trail: The Story of the Film, Four Behind
The Scenes and On Location Featurettes, My Beloved Revelation Trail
Music Video by Angry Johnny and the Killbillies.
