Bitten
is another show hoping to bank off the success of Twilight and
True Blood with a concept that werewolves are Gucci models
with perfect abs and jawlines. The story centers on Elena Michaels
(portrayed by Laura Vandervoort), a female werewolf who is torn
between a normal life with her human boyfriend Philip in Toronto and
her obligations to her wolf pack in upstate New York. Among her pack
is her ex-fiancé Clayton, who is responsible for her becoming a
werewolf. The drama is lame and the special effects are generic.
Spanning a massive four discs, this bore of a show features thirteen
episodes clocking in at a whopping 572 minutes. Yikes.
Episodes
on the disc are titled Summons, Prodigal, Trespass, Grief, Bitten,
Committed, Stalking, Prisoner, Vengeance, Descent, Settling, Caged,
and finally Ready. From the titles alone, you can pretty much
guess at where the show is going starting with Elena's vulnerability
upon her first bite to torn between two lovers, and finally she
stands on two hind legs as a fierce predator.
The
sound and picture are fine however, presented in 1080p high
definition in 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio, and a powerful DTS-HD
MA lossless 5.1 track on each episode. Subtitles on the disc are in
English SDH. Bonus Features are a Behind-the-Scenes Featurette,
Deleted Scenes, Split Screen Stunt Choreography, and Audio Commentary
with Laura Vandervoort, and Producers.
If
you are a diehard fan of Werewolves or a big fan of the Twilight
series then this may be the show for you. I'm more a classic
monsters fan so this didn't do much for me.
