Teen Wolf: Season 3, Part 2 (2014/MGM/MTV/Fox DVD)

Picture: B- Sound: B- Extras: D Episodes: D

Teen Wolf is a highly unimpressive series that copies elements from Twilight, True Blood, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer to create drama that only a pre-teen could really appreciate. The editing is fast paced and jazzy, the acting is wooden, and every character is too pretty to be taken any sort of serious in any context. Its pure cheese. Some elements of the show loosely remind you of the original Teen Wolf movie but it doesn't nearly have the heart or the comedy that that film had. I honestly don't even know why they bothered calling it Teen Wolf. The makeup prosthetics and digital effects aren't even commendable. It feels too much like they played it on the safe side.

While Scott struggles to find his place as an Alpha, Allison and Stilles begin to experience strange side effects as a result of reigniting the power within Beacon Hills. They soon discover that the answer to their problems may be found in a new student named Kira, a girl with remarkable powers of her own.

The Three Disc set contains all 12 latter Season Three episodes and here are available in standard definition DVD preserving the original 16X9 aspect ratio of 1.78:1 of the original broadcast. The picture and sound are fine for the format but doesn't compare obviously to that of the Blu-ray format. The sound is fine with a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track and subtitles are on the disc in English SDH, Spanish, and French. Total running time for this set is 528 minutes.

The only feature on the disc is the hysterical Following The Pack: The Fans of Teen Wolf where you see can see who their target audience is.

If you are into this sort of soapy sappy pop culture phenomena and was a big fan of the Twilight series then this may be for you. For myself, its too tame and fake to be taken seriously.
