When
Donny (Derek Hough) journeys to work for his brother in New York as
an underground dancer he immediately falls in love with Aya (BoA), a
beautiful Asian hip hop dancer. Only problem is, their families are
bitter rivals and have a bad history with each other. The only thing
they have in common is the dance, but they must choose between their
love of the dance and their families, and for them to make their move
in Duane Adler's Make Your Move (2013).
Donny
is a New Orleans street dancer on parole who goes to New York to work
for his 'brother' who runs an illegal underground dance club, but
unfortunately his brother has screwed over too many of his partners
including Aya's and Aya's brother Kaz, as well doing too many illegal
activities. Aya's over protective brother now manages another
(legit) nightclub, but it's owner threatens Aya's work visa on the
condition he owns her body and soul. Both their families are in a
turf war with each other, but can Donny and Aya find a place where
they can both dance together?
This
was like a Romeo & Juliet or West Side Story with street
hip-hop dancing with tap dancing and Japanese drum dancing; Two rival
families with bad blood and two young talent couple who just wants to
dance together despite their family conditions. There was a lot of
great music with choreographed dancing, and over all a decent
story/plot despite the obvious familiarity with plot.
The
1080p 1.78 X 1 HD-shot digital High Definition image is as good as it
is going to be for a musical dance release like this and it works,
though the lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 mix is a little
inconsistent throughout. Extras includes a feature-length
commentary, deleted scenes, making of the movies and trailers.
