Based
on a true story, Nate Norman was your everyday high school teen drop
out that no one noticed, but he became an over night millionaire when
he became a drug runner from Canada to the U.S. Suddenly, him and
his crew became the hot topic of his town... only problem is he's not
the only one who wants to be the kingpin in John Stockwell's Kid
Cannabis (2014).
Nate
and his friends are basically considered the losers of his school.
Wanting to change their lives Nate comes up with the idea of a
million dollar marijuana run across the U.S./Canada boarders.
Suddenly the find themselves rich beyond their imagination,
surrounded by naked girls and partying. Their greatest threat
however isn't the cops or the competition, but their own greed and
ego, their greatest weakness is trust, loyalty and willing to sell
each other out to save their own hides when police come looking.
This
film seems like a pro-marijuana film. While it is true, marijuana is
a gateway, recreational or 'happy' drug, it is argued that it is no
worst than alcohol or tobacco, has medical uses, and has even
legalized in a few states (thought you still could get fired for it).
The film evolves from the drug issue to because the law made it
illegal it causes even the best of friends to turn against each
other.
The
1080p 1.85 X 1 digital High Definition image has intentionally raw
footage, but the style is consistent and looks as good as it is going
to get. The lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 mix is passable,
mostly people talking with some music and sound effects. The only
extra is a trailer.
