Chunibyo
- A person who has strong delusions of fantasy, often an otaku
mimicking anime characters or video game characters, and acting them
out in real life. Yuta was
a
Chunibyo, now in new high school he wishes to start over and leave
his 'old' life behind. Only thing is ...his new neighbor, Rikka is a
hardcore Chunibyo and claims he is her soul mate and drags him into
her
fantasy
world/life. Will Yuta be able to keep in check his old Chunibyo
ways?

Chunibyo & Other Delusions!: Complete Collection
(2012), Yuta, (a.k.a Dark Flame Master) finds his past embarrassing
and tries to leave behind his past with his delusions of being a hero
from another world. That is until he meets Rikka, (a.k.a Wicked Lord
Shingan) who's often living in her own fantasy world as magical
transforming girl. Together they even start a 'magic club'. They are
join by Dekomori (also a Chunibyo) who consider Rikka her 'master'.
They are joined by Nibutani, the most popular girl in school, (a.k.a.
Mori Summer) she is also an secretly an ex-Chunibyo, who unwilling
joins when she discover Dekomori has evidence of her past and only
joins the club to find and destroy the evidence. Finally, they are
joined by Tsuyuri a carefree upperclassman who has the ability to
fall asleep anywhere.
This was a comical
series, while there is no actual magical girl(s) more often the
characters go into fantasy mode, role playing themselves fighting the
forces of evil (or being normal) or each other. The characters grow
and eventually become friends with each other, but the main character
discovers why they prefer to live in fantasy worlds, to hide from
something in their past... and he helps them face reality eventually.
This series raises the question is it better to have a little
fantasy in your life or none at all?
The anamorphically
enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and the lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo play
as good as they are going to in this format, but a Blu-ray version is
also available, so those who have a machine might want to get that
edition instead. Extras include Chuni-shorts, Japanese Promos, clean
opening and closing, and trailers.

terms with her father's death.

- As Rikka continues to runaway, she and Yuta spends a night together
alone and becomes closer.

feelings to him, which almost snaps her back to reality.

- It's the school festival and Rikka's mother shows up, Yuta
convinces Rikka to stop being a Chunibyo, but isn't sure he did the
right thing.

- Rikka now act like a normal girl, Yuta wonders if all is now
well... that is until Rikka gone.

Engagement
- Yuta realizes his mistake has cause Rikka to not be true to herself
and moved away. He rushes to try and win back Rikka's heart.
