Date

Michael
(Nicholas Braun) and Matty (Hunter Cope) have been best friends since
elementary, now in high school they have made pack together to lose
their virginity and get stoned by senior prom, but things get
complicated when Matty tells Michael he is gay and Michael falls for
Matty's ex-girl friend. Chris Nelson's Date
& Switch
(2014) had been met with mixed reaction and sometimes decisively so,
but it is a far more impressive film than people might be grasping.
Michael
and Matty are were just two normal
best friends until Matty announces that he is gay. As Michael tries
to continue their friendship, he cannot help but start feeling
awkward around him, specially that he is interested in Matty's
ex-girl friend. As he tries to face his own insecurities with
homosexuality, he feels that it shouldn't change their friendship,
but life is about changes, and nothing stays the same.
This
was a comical coming of age story, the story of your typical American
boys just trying to get high and laid by prom. Be warned, it has
brief sexual nudity with drug usage. It explores the relationship
between friends when one of them comes out as a homosexual, how
society accepts them and does it change friendship/relationship.
With a supporting cast that includes Gary Cole, Nick Offerman and
Megan Mullally, this is a nice surprise that really delivers.
The
1080p 2.35 X 1 digital High Definition image and DTS-HD MA (Master
Audio) 5.1 lossless mix professionally rendered throughout, making
for a fine combination, while extras
include commentary, A
Tale of Coming Out
featurette, Prom:
Rite of Passage
featurette, deleted scenes and trailers.
