of Flashpoint,
where anything could happen, from teenage bank robbers, hostage
rescue situations, to terrorism, Team One of the Strategic Response
Unit (SRU) is always ready for action. It becomes their darkest hour
when an innocent girl is killed by SRU and become a PR nightmare,
team members begin questioning their leaders judgement and their own
jobs. But their limits are put to the test when a terrorist starts
bombing their city, in the chaos and destruction they must rise to
not only save the victims, but find the killer and stop the rest of
his bombs.
The
Strategic Response Unit is a group of highly trained police force
that has been justified in the use of deadly force (only after when
all options have been exhausted). They have been trained from high
tech weaponry, body armor, to knives and explosives. Their job is to
connect, protect and respect ...and then neutralize/kill
their targets. Greg the boss, deals with his son who wants to join
the force, Ed must face is own conscience after he is forced to kill
a teenage girl, and Sam and Jules starts a new life together, but
tragedy hits home when one of their own is killed in the line of
duty. Team One's moral is at an all time low when a lone terrorist
bomber starts attacks the city, will it be up to Team One to save an
entire city.
This
is an action/drama packed series set in Toronto about the Canadian
police, where the police are forced make tough decisions in extreme
situations. Their greatest enemy are the rules of engagement in
which they must follow, more often the rules and policies serve
covering the asses of the higher-ups instead of protecting the
innocent. And when the innocent gets killed, the police are the ones
who have face the public and deal with the aftermath, often because
of this the police officers themselves become traumatized and
unstable.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1
mix are as good as they are going to be in the DVD format. Extras
includes a final salute to Flashpoint, reflections from cast and
crew, and Flashpoint: Last Day on Set.
