A
deadly virus enters the city of Bundang when a group of illegal
immigrants are smuggled into the city. By the time government and
officials notice it, it is already too late, the entire city is
infected. The government then quickly orders the military to
lockdown and force a quarantine to separate the sick from the
healthy. While the doctors scramble for a cure, the government's
lockdown soon encounters problems, with limited resources, space, man
power and with time running out things soon become desperate and the
public's fears riots to in the street in Kim Sung-so's Flu
(2013).
Kang
(Hyuk Jang) was just an Emergency Rescue Serviceman, he didn't expect
that day was his city to be hit with an epidemic. A deadly influenza
virus has mutated to humans and has become air born, with a 12 hour
incubation period and then your dead. His path crosses Doctor In-hae
(Soo Ae) and her daughter Mi-reu, he must protect them and help them
to find patient zero, who is the only one to have developed the
anti-bodies, the cure to the deadly virus, but as time and lives runs
out, the city spirals rapidly out of control ...and the military has
been given orders to shoot anyone who tries to escape.
This
was an entertaining film, how the public and government would react
in an epidemic without a cure. The people become paranoid and
violent of who is infected, the government officials avoid
responsibility and runs away, soldiers face the moral dilemma's of
human rights and life, and doctors try to save lives.
The
anamorphically enhanced image and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 sound are
as good as they are going to be in this format for this genre, so the
disc's performance is solid. Extras include making of the film,
concept art and deleted scenes.
