Killing
Kennedy (2013/Fox Blu-ray)
Picture:

One
of the greatest assassination mysteries in American history,
President John Kennedy (Rob Lowe) and Lee Harvey Oswald (Will
Rothaar), two Americans; one fueled by the hope for the United
States, and the other disillusioned by American ideas and values.
See what lead up to the fatal day, a man who never knew the President
but still blamed him for all the world's misgivings.
Based
on controversial cable TV show host's Bill O'Reilly's controversial
take on history, this telefilm version tells the story of two men,
JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald, what tries to be a new perspective. JFK,
the youngest President of the United States faces The Cold War with
criticisms from his generals, scandals in the White House, and
pressure from society, while Lee Harvey Oswald, an ex-marine was
unhappy with current politics and government defects to Soviet Union
and then Cuba will soon clash, though JFK would never know his name
(unless he heard of him secretly about his communist ties). After a
failed marriage, unemployment and rejections he become a jaded and
angry man and Oswald vows to be noticed, even if it kills him...
The
teleplay paints a picture of not an assassin nor a President, but
more the story of two men, two fathers and two marriages. While both
lives were not perfect, JFK was the symbol of never giving up, never
backing down, and eventual redemption, while Oswald was a symbol of
communism and anything un-America(n), and had given up on society,
and blamed everyone but himself. While the truth of the JFK
assassination will always be surrounded by mystery, conspiracy
theories, and the question if Lee Harvey Oswald really acted alone,
it is no question how these two men left their impact on history.
The
1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image is as good as it is
going to get for a cable TV movie and the lossless DTS-HD MA (Master
Audio) 5.1 sound is not as good, but decent for a dialogue-based
production. Extras include original and extended versions of the
film, making of the Killing Kennedy, interview with author, The
Kennedy Mystique, Virginia for Lovers and trailers.
