Former Shaolin Monk is forced to enter the Temple of Hades to battle
his former brothers in arms in a life and death match to save the
abducted children. Trained in the deadly arts of assassination, the
Hades disciples plans to revive the Temple of Hades with the children
and captured prisoners in a bloody sacrificial death match to their
God Hades in order to create the ultimate warrior in Wing-cheong
Law's The Wrath Of Vajra (2013).
K-29
(Shi Yanneng aka Yu Xing) was a former gifted student of Hades until
he killed his brother and rejected the teaching of Hades and became a
Shaolin monk. Years later, the brotherhood of Hades began abducting
and training children again, turning them into heartless killing
machines and then returning to their home to spread the terror of
Hades. K-29 vows to stop endless cycle of violence and free all
those Hades has captured, that Hades is no match for the wrath of
Vajra.
This
film reminded me a lot of Mortal Kombat (minus the costumes),
warriors are gathered from all over the world for mortal hand to hand
combat. The martial arts were good, but I was more impressed with
was how many non Asian actors spoke fluently in a foreign language,
but if you want to stop an evil organization that prided itself on
hand to hand combat, use guns, a platoon of soldiers with guns can
wipe out 1,000 bare fisted martial artists.
The
1080p 2.35 X 1 digital High Definition image transfer looks great as
the producers really put the money and production value on the
screen, while the DTS-HD MA (Master
Audio) 5.1 lossless mix is a solid multi-channel experience matching
the image in a release that has plenty of reference-quality moments.
Extras include a making of
the film featurette and trailers.
