Knight Of The Dead (2013/Inception Media DVD)

Picture: C Sound: D Extras: D Film: C+

In a time of Black Death, all the healthy people have left or are in hiding, what was left was the murderers, looters, the dead and a group of knights with a mission. These knights must travel through a plague infested lands, hunted by assassins and journey through the forbidden Valley or Black Death they find something more horrible than the plague or thieves, but the dead themselves are coming back from the dead ...and they are hungry.

In Mark Atkins' Knight Of The Dead (2013), 4 knights and a priest are charged with hiding the Holy Grail in a time of chaos, but their path is not an easy one, with everyone gone, or dead it is robber, murderer, killer's delight. After crossing swords with a bunch of bandits, the bandits swore revenge and chased them into the Valley of Black Death, where they find zombie armies.... as they journey through the cursed land, one by one their numbers fall, their only hope is a mysterious woman who says she can guide them out.

Knight and zombies is the simplest way of summing things up, but I would argue can you call a knight, a knight if he doesn't have any armor? While the idea was cool or knights fighting the undead, the fight was a lot less than desired. The costuming was more like leather jerkins and robes, if the Knights actually had armor I think they would have stood a better chance against the zombies (at least they couldn't be bit). The anamorphically enhanced image is soft, the lossy Dolby Digital sound very disappointing and there are no extras.
