Rick
Gervais and Stephen Merchant invites their 'friend' Karl to take a trip around
the world, doing a bucket list of all the places he wants to go and all the things
he wants to do before he dies, but not without a few side adventures and
detours. In truth, the bucket list isn't
his, they are other peoples, while Karl does eventually get to his list, it is
not what he expected on An Idiot Abroad
2 from the BBC.
Karl is
getting a chance of a lifetime to travel the world for free doing his 'bucket
list', but when he is sent Russia
to ride the Russian transcontinental railroad, he is sent for cosmonaut
training! While visiting the jungle to
see gorilla, he is sent to do charity work in Africa.
While going whale watching, he is sent
to the North Pole and on a fishing boat. While climbing Mt. Fuji,
he is sent to try sushi and sumo wrestling. All the meanwhile Rick and Stephen
is laughing their heads off trying to get him to go bungee jumping, a prostate
exam, and walk around nude.
This is a
reality TV / comedy show based on the idea of be careful what you wished for,
while the participant gets free trips of a lifetime. The main character is a conservative British
man, he is constantly invited to try new and different things, and harassed by
the shows hosts. The whole point of the
film is to see him in embarrassing and uncomfortable situations, which I
enjoyed.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo sound
is as good as it is going to get for DVD.
Extras include deleted scenes, Pilko's
Pump Pants, Ain't No Pleasing You
and trailers.
