Welcome
back Garfield and Friends, old and new, larger than life and now in 3-D. In this spring season he has daily laughs and
adventures with (either he wants to or not) family and friends. While all Garfield wants to do is eat, sleep and then
eat some more, thing are not going to leave him alone. Along with John's spring allergies, a trip to
the farm, old friends and unwanted visitors, and unruly guests, Garfield finds a way to get
the last laughs in the end in The
Garfield Show – Spring Fun Collection!
Garfield
is America's favorite lazy fat cat, his hobbies (besides eating and sleeping)
include tormenting his clueless and nerdy owner John, getting kicks out of Odie
(literally), and mauling of the mailman. While he torments others he makes wise cracks
about other people's failings while ignoring his own (especially anything that
might resemble any form of work or effort on his part), but rarely Garfield shows a softer
side, or words of wisdom of actually caring for friends and family, usually on
holidays.
Of all
the years reading/watching Garfield, this film was the first time I seen him in
3-D, while his voice wasn't the original, it certainly had a new fresh feel, sorta like when Super Mario became 3-D for the first time. In general it kept to the spirit of Garfield, but things seem more to be made to Garfield sized than John
sized, and there were more side characters than before (guess that is easier
drawing and voicing new characters each time). The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 picture
and Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo sound are on par with the previous CGI DVD
releases, though I thought the sound was a bit underwhelming. The only extras are Garfield Shorts.
