In the
city of vice, murder and corruption, 4 Assassins
(2012) gather in Hong Kong hotel to settle
some unfinished business. Marcus (Will
Yun Lee) is paid a visit by 3 other professional killers, one, his old flame
Cordelia (Mercedes Renard), two, Chase (Oliver Williams) a virgin assassin out
to make a name for himself and finally Eli (Miguel Ferrer of the original
Verhoeven RoboCop), his mentor and a
veteran assassin. They are there to
'talk' about Marcus's latest job, as the deadline draws near, they reminisce
and talk about what it means to be an assassin and a chance for Marcus to
explain himself and change his mind.
An
assassin always finishes the job, but when Marcus decides otherwise and leaves,
3 other assassins are sent in to clean up the job. Now usually, it's just shooting first and no
questions asked, but being them all professionals killers instead they all sit
down over a meal, talk even joke about their first kills. Marcus must either convince them to let them
go or give up the target's location. Between
friendship, love and loyalty whichever is stronger and will define the code of
the assassins in Director Stanley J, Orzel’s first feature.
The anamorphically
enhanced 2.35 X 1 image was shot on a RED One HD camera and is one the weak
side throughout, though this might look better on a Blu-ray, it is darkened to
some extend and detail (along with depth) lacks. The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is also on the flat
side with major location audio issues.
There are no extras.
