Headspace (2005/MVD Visual DVD)

Picture: C     Sound: C     Extras: A     Film: C+

Alex (Christopher Denham) was just a regular guy until he met street chess master.  Suddenly, he started became smarter, see visions and realize things he never knew. Unfortunately there are side effects; he began having headaches, seeing demons around him.  Soon those around him are ending up dead and there some evil creature after him.  He begins to remember his past and realize the key to end this nightmare is in the past in Andrew van den Houten’s Headspace (2005).

Alex also has a dramatic past, repressed was the death of his possessed mother (Sean Young), and the separation of his family and his brother.  His mind is the 'link' to the other side, after unknowingly meeting his brother again, his mind awakens, but so does the evil within him.  Now burst out and uncontrollable Alex begins to lose his sanity, is it all real or is it just in his mind?

This is a film on two psychic brothers who awaken their minds, but something on the other side wants to come over through their minds.  As for becoming smarter and a psychic, they really don't show much than him getting better at chess and reading people's minds, they could of showed (in my opinion) them solving some quantum problems or more supernatural abilities like telekinesis, etc... As the bodies begin to pile up, the brothers begin to lose their grip on their sanity.  It becomes a question of what is real or is it just happening in their minds, are those murders really cause by demons or is it them who are doing the killing?

William Atherton, Udo Kier, Olivia Hussey and William Atherton also star.  Extras include a making of the film featurette, deleted scenes, auditions, trailers and commentary.
