Snow is
sent off to disciplinary boot camp after getting in caught in a bit of grand
theft auto. And with her stepmother
wanting her out of the way between her and her father, she and a group of
misfits are now dieing one by one, you can check in, but you won't be checking
out...
While there aren't any dwarfs (which would of been funny) in David DeCoteau’s
flat, lame Snow White: A Deadly Summer
(2012), a group of spoiled rotten rich kids are sent off by their parents lying,
stealing, drugs, and worst to their worst nightmare, boot camp. Now stripped of modern luxuries and under a
former Navy SEALs camp counselor they are to work out every day till they drop,
but on top of all things someone is murdering them, Snow get premonitions and
dreams that her 'evil' stepmother is the root of it all. Goofy, goofy, goofy!
Think Battle Royale or Hunger Games on the cheap… real cheap!
This was a C-rated version of a 'modern' Snow White story, the only thing that
match Snow White was it had an 'evil' stepmother. Meanwhile, Snow White wasn't really innocent
or good either, a spoiled rich girl with a bunch of 'troubled' kids they are
tortured by drill sergeant counselor (or a cartoon there of) who is only trying
to teach them having work ethic, honesty, honor is a good thing. It is becomes a survival horror film for bad
kids rebelling 'evil' parental figures, but in the end the film was made even
weaker by turning the story into a girl who wakes up in the hospital bed. It looks and sounds awful. Extras include still gallery and commentary
with director and cast.
