True Legend (2010/Vivendi Blu-ray)

Su and
Yuan, two blood brothers after a lifetime of battle returns home from the war
to settle down, but Yuan seeking revenge from the past instead, murders all of
Yuan's family, kidnapping his son and almost kills Su himself. Now, Su, a broken alcoholic cripple must
find a way to re-train his body, face his brother, and gain back his son
and his honor in Woo-ping Yuen’s True
Legend (2010).
Su and
his adopted brother Yuan have grown up together and been through battles, thick
and thin, but over the years Yuan has been secretly planning to
get the revenge on Su's family for originally killing his. Trained in the forbidden martial arts the
Five Venom Fists, Yuan massacres Su family, takes son and then leaves Su
for dead. Yuan's body and spirit is
left broken and in pain in the months to come, but even after barely surviving
he is left crippled when he awakens. Now,
Su must find a way to recover and to train under a mysterious mountain
monk to create a even more powerful martial art
(drunken fist) to defeat Yuan's Five Venom Fist.
From (some
of) the creators of The Matrix, Kill Bill and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon if you are looking for not stop
martial arts then look no further. This
film features high fantasy martial arts with beautiful vistas and
settings, from bottomless valleys to mountain tops, from mammoth
statues to ringside boxing scenes and more, one fight right after another.
This film
actually could of been done into two films, the first
chapter is one brother getting revenge on the other and the second part is
about years later how a drunken martial artist defends China's honor
from Western foreign fighters. This
looks and sounds as good as it possibly could with its 1080p image and DTS
lossless 5.1 mix. Extras include behind
the scenes, storyboards, music video, trailer, additional bonus materials and
downloadable song.
