Entourage – The Complete Seventh Season (HBO Blu-ray)

You would
think after seven seasons Entourage would
be same old, same old; and you would be right.
The odd part is, however, it manages to still capture my attention and
entertain.
The boys
are back in all their glory. Turtle,
Vince, Eric and Drama all return, but life has seemingly thrown a wrench in the
works for the super squad. Once
inseparable, the Hollywood lifestyle has
boiled over and it is now time to start making life long decisions. Vince quickly develops a new outlook on life after
an accident on his new action film sets the gears in motion.
Vince becomes
more difficult to manage then ever; as one death defying moment leaves Vince
feeling indestructible. The action star
is now high on adrenaline, as he jumps from planes, pops pills, and dates porn
stars. Choices and lines must be drawn,
but where everyone will fall in the end is still up in the air. Turtle’s dreams of being an entrepreneur are
tested as he moves from one potential investment to the next, ultimately
leading him to the bottom of a bottle. Personal
lives and professional lives once clearly defined, now become obscured with
every party involved no longer being so comfortable with the established
hierarchy. In this Seventh Season, emotions come to a head and leave viewers on the
edge of their seats in anticipation.
The
technical features on Entourage – Season
Seven are in line with the last release.
The picture again is a 1080p AVC encoded 1.78 X 1 digital High
Definition image that has very few issues and is even an improvement over
certain aspects of the previous season.
Overall it looks nice with clean, crisp image and vivid colors. The bright Hollywood
backdrop is rendered perfectly, and the darker moments have been cleaned up
this time around; which is good because there are more this season. The sound is well done in its DTS HD-Master
Audio lossless 5.1 track that again heavily comes from the front as it is a
dialogue driven series, but surrounds are also utilized for music, ambient
noise and solid directionality. With
there being more action sequences this season, as Vince spirals out of control,
the surrounds are utilized more which is nice to hear.
The
extras include the following:
- Inside the Hollywood Highlife: A Behind the Scenes Look at
the Making of Season 7 featuring interviews with cast and crew
- The Shades of Sasha Grey: An Inside Look into the
World of Sasha Grey
- 3 Audio Commentaries with
Creator/Executive Producer Doug Ellin, Executive Producer Ally Musika,
Jeremy Piven, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, and Adrian Grenier.
A great
series that I will be sad to see end after its 8th and final season
next year.
