Stargate SG-U 1.5 (MGM Blu-ray Set)

In what ought to be the final Stargate TV show, SG-U 1.5
finishes where the 1.o set left off. We
covered that Blu-ray at this link:

I was hoping that maybe it might get better, but I have
not liked any of the series derived from the original film, which was only so
good to begin with, so it is no surprise that even with Robert Carlyle, the
show is another over-dark mix of formula writing, tired digital effects and
everything we have seen before in played out TV space operas. Lou Diamond Philips is back and Richard Dean
Anderson even shows up, but unless you really, really, really like the show,
skip this set too.
The 1080p 1.78 X 1 AVC @ 26 MBPS (higher than the last
set, but to no avail) digital High Definition image was shot on High Definition
and is plastered with all kinds of tired, predictable, lame digital effects,
but it is consistent with the first set.
The DTS-HD Master Audio (MA) 5.1 track is actually more restricted than
the last set, which was not that good to begin with, so we get “TV sound”: when
we could have had more. Among the extras
are several making-of featurettes, audio commentary tracks on all episodes, a
diary and Blu-ray exclusive game.
