If
you're interested in the Hip Hop and Rap scene and the horrors that
lie in Compton, then the in-depth documentary Streets Of Compton
(2016) from the A&E Network, will definitely be a disc that you
will want to check out.
Known
as the birthplace for several legends in the genre such as NWA,
Venus, Serena Williams, and Kendrick Lamar to name a few - the
documentary takes you down all of the mean streets and fleshes out
stories of hardship and life in the midst of gangs, drugs, and
violence.
Hosted
by Hip-Hop superstar The Game and featuring Lil Eazy-E, I found this
documentary to be an enjoyable and informative watch that definitely
made me never want to visit, let alone live in such a scary place!
The total length of the doc is around 135 minutes, so be prepared to
strap yourself in as the story here isn't quick and to the point, for
how could it be?
Presented
in standard definition with an anamorphically enhanced widescreen
aspect ratio of 1.78:1, the documentary looks and sounds standard for
DVD with nothing too stellar in terms of presentation but just about
average where it needs to be. The sound mix is a lossy English 2.0
Dolby Digital track that does the job fine and isn't anything to
complain about.
